DRUG TEST

rapid drug testing

When minutes count instant drug testing will get you results right away.

Rapid drug tests are also known as instant tests because once a urine specimen is collected the result will be available within minutes.

The Initial Screening

Rapid drug tests require urine or saliva to be collected, with urine testing giving more of an accurate results. The rapid testing collector will process an initial screening using an instant drug testing device. When completed, the collector will allow the device to process. After a short period, the collector will then read the instant results. Negative results are given immediately. Non-negative tests will be sent off to the lab for further testing and analyzed by a physician. This can take an additional 2-3 days.

How Rapid Drug Screening Works?

Instant testing provides rapid, reliable drug screening results to detect drug use and illicit substances in a person's system. Screening are conducted at the collection facility where you will provide the specimen for the fast drug test.

The rapid drug screen is not available or approved for federally regulated organizations or U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) drug testing programs. It does not comply with federal guidelines, which require more rigorous lab-based testing. Therefore, only non-DOT employers can use the rapid urine drug test.

Considerations for choosing Rapid drug testing

Laws on drug testing in the workplace vary state by state, so make sure you look into the laws for your state. Also, keep in mind that the Department of Transportation has other requirements for drug testing and does not permit rapid urine testing.

Are Rapid drug tests accurate?

Rapid drug testing mostly urine tests can be up to 99% accurate. Since they are used to screen for negative and non-negative tests, they cannot fully determine if a test is positive. To make that determination, non-negative tests must be sent to the lab to be analyzed.

Instant or Rapid Drug Testing Works Great for:

  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • Employee drug testing
  • Court-ordered drug testing
  • Drug tests for probation
  • Child custody case drug test
  • Random drug screening
  • Testing teenagers
